BMB Celebrates 100 Years!

The Edward A. Doisy Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology celebrated 100 years since its founding in 1924. This momentous occasion was commemorated by hosting the 4th Edward A. Doisy Lecture as well as a Celebration Dinner.

The 4th Doisy Lecture was given by Jeffrey Gordon, Ph.D.,Professor of Pathology & Immunology, Developmental Biology, and Molecular Biology at Washington University. His research focuses on gut microbiota and its role in health and in the pathogenesis of malnutrition in children.

A Centennial Celebration Dinner was held at the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Bayer Event Center on Monday, May 13, 2024. The evening included a seated dinner, a history of the department and highlights over the past 100 years, and ended with dessert and dancing.
