BMB Ranked 37th by BRIMR

BRIMR released their final rankings for 2024. BMB ranked 37th out of 95 Biochemistry departments in the US, up from 56th last year.

  • Total NIH funding was $8.4M, up 65% from $5.1M in 2023, and above the mean ($8.1M) and median ($7.0M) values for 2024.
  • There were a total of 1188 Biochemistry awardees in 2024, for a total NIH funding of $765M, a mean of $643,892, and a median of $430,549.
  • Five BMB faculty (pictured below) ranked above the mean.
  • Reza Dastvan ranked 24th among all biochemistry PIs in the US, with $2.6M in NIH funding!
