Graduate Student

Congratulations to Celine Hartman, Graduate Student in the lab of David Ford, Ph.D., who was selected to participate in the 2017 ASBMB Hill Day on April 6. Each year, students and postdocs apply to the event and a select few are invited to travel to Washington, DC, to meet and directly interact with their congressional representatives to advocate for scientific research and research funding.

Participants learned about the federal budget process, and had the opportunity to discuss their federally-funded research with congress members. For more information on Hill Day, see the ASBMB site.

Celine documented her experience on Twitter on April 6.

Celine’s story was also recently featured in Newslink and on the saukvalley.com site, from Celine’s home town of Rock Falls, IL.
