David Ford Awarded the Peter Endowed Chair in Biochemistry

Congratulations to David Ford, Ph.D., Professor of Biochemistry and Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Research, on being named the second holder of the James B. and Joan C. Peter Endowed Chair in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

The Chair was created in 2007 through a generous donation by James B. and Joan C. Peter to his alma mater in honor of William S. Sly, M.D., friend and colleague of Dr. Peter, and the inaugural holder of the endowed chair.

Dr. Ford’s research has uncovered novel molecules involved in vascular disease and organ failure, and recently has focused on the mechanisms involved in multi-organ failure due to sepsis. The Peter chair will help further this important research for years to come.
