Emily Cybulla Wins at 2018 AOA Research Forum

The Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and SLU held the 53nd annual AOA Research Forum for medical students in January 2018. Emily Cybulla, an M.D./Ph.D. student in Alessandro Vindigni’s lab, was awarded 2nd place in the SLU research forum in a tie with another student, Samiksha Tarun. Emily’s project was entitled “Mechanisms of replication fork rescue in BRCA1-deficient cancer cells.”

Emily, along with the 1st place winner, Alysia Johnson, traveled to the national AOA research forum in Galveston, TX, in April 2018 to present their work. Both Emily and Alysia won 1st place in their respective categories for their research presentations.
