Reza Dastvan Receives Katz R01 Grant and R37 Merit Award

Congratulations to Reza Dastvan, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Biochemistry on several recent accomplishments:

  • Reza received an Stephen I. Katz Early Stage Investigator R01 grant from the National Cancer Institute at the NIH. This grant is Reza’s first NIH award!
  • As a result of receiving this grant, Reza was invited to attend the NCI Division of Cancer Biology annual workshop for new grantees, which provides the opportunity to meet NCI Program and Grants Management staff, gives help in navigating NIH processes and award management, and provides information about resources and programs to continuing building his research program and supporting staff and trainees.
  • In July, Reza was informed that his Katz R01 was being upgraded to an R37 MERIT award. This award provides investigators the opportunity to extends the original grant funding by up to 7 years.
